End of Semester [Survey]
Now that you have [almost] completed the course, please answer each survey question once more in a few thoughtful sentences.
1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
I envision using visual arts in my classroom in numerous ways. I plan to use the VTS technique during read alouds, introduction to social studies and science topics, and other topics of relevance. Additionally, I want to incorporate clay making into a literacy unit where students tell stories and create characters. I also will use political cartoons, collage, and print-making techniques to create meaningful projects that tie art to content.
2. What do you know about integrated learning / integration?
I know that integrated learning and integration is something best done while planning a lesson, rather than tacking a detail on at the end. Integration goes beyond coloring a picture, but rather allows students to create meaningful works that allow them to improve their artistic and academic abilities simultaneously. I will integrate visual arts throughout all content areas and helps students meaningfully appreciate visual arts and grow their skills in visual arts.
3. Rate your comfort level in making art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
I enjoy making art and feel more confident than I did before this class; I understand and know how to use a greater variety of techniques.
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
Before this class I thought talking about art meant knowing about the artist and the period; now with VTS I feel comfortable discussing and theorizing about visual arts pieces.
